Industry-First 360° Infrared Body Coverage

Most infrared saunas heat your body from the sides and rear, leaving large areas of your body exposed to much less radiant heat. At Sun Stream, we engineered our Evolve range differently, surrounding you with infrared heat from every direction for a more even and immersive sauna experience.

Many infrared saunas do not include heating panels in the door, and their side panels often stop short of the front edge of the seat. As a result, very little infrared energy reaches the front of your body while you’re seated.

The Evolve range incorporates a full-height 300-watt nano-carbon heater in the door, together with extended side-wall heating panels, creating true 360° infrared body coverage. This surrounds more of your body with radiant heat for a more even, comfortable and immersive sauna experience

See the Difference High Watt-Density Heaters Make

Many infrared sauna manufacturers make claims about heater performance, but very few demonstrate those claims with independent visual evidence. In this video, we use thermal imaging to compare how different heater designs distribute radiant infrared heat.

Sun Stream’s high watt-density nano-carbon heaters concentrate more radiant infrared energy into the areas of your body where it’s needed most. Rather than spreading the available power across oversized, lower-temperature panels, our heater design delivers greater radiant heat intensity for a faster, more immersive sauna experience.

Why Heater Position Is Just As Important As Heater Output

Many infrared saunas use large, low watt-density heating panels that extend high up the side walls. While these heaters do produce infrared energy, much of that radiant heat is directed above the seated user rather than towards the areas of the body where it is most beneficial.

Sun Stream's Optimised Heater Layout

Sun Stream’s high watt-density nano-carbon heaters are positioned lower in the sauna to direct more radiant infrared energy towards your body’s largest muscle groups. Combined with our industry-first 360° body coverage, this creates a more even, immersive and efficient infrared heating experience.

An infrared sauna should be judged not simply by the number or size of its heaters, but by how effectively radiant heat is delivered to your body. Our high watt-density heater design and optimised panel placement work together to maximise infrared coverage where it matters most.

Why We Don't Cover Our Heater Panels

Many infrared saunas cover their carbon heating panels with synthetic fabrics or cloth materials. At Sun Stream, we deliberately leave our nano-carbon heating panels exposed because any material placed over the heater surface can reduce infrared performance and introduce unnecessary materials into the sauna environment.

While fabric-covered heating panels have become common within the industry, Sun Stream’s nano-carbon heaters are designed to operate without cloth covers, allowing infrared heat to radiate directly into the sauna.

The Benefits of Exposed Nano-Carbon Heating Panels

  • Maximum Infrared Performance
Without a cloth barrier covering the heater surface, radiant infrared energy can be transferred more efficiently into the sauna, helping to deliver a more powerful and immersive heating experience.
  • Fewer Materials Inside the Sauna
Removing cloth covers also eliminates the need for additional fabrics and adhesives directly over the heater panels, resulting in a cleaner, simpler heater design.
  • Easier to Keep Clean
Exposed heater panels are easier to wipe down and maintain, particularly around the floor heater where perspiration naturally collects during sauna use.

Open Heater Guard Design

Our heater guards are designed to protect users without unnecessarily obstructing the infrared heaters. Wide-spaced solid timber slats allow radiant heat to pass freely while providing strength, durability and protection. It’s another example of how every aspect of a Sun Stream sauna is engineered to maximise infrared performance.
